This set of the LAURENTIC with our ESKE cave canister is called the PORTSALON.

The LAURENTIC is a great light for wreck divers. However, combine the LAURENTIC light head with our ESKE cave canister and you boost the run time of your light at full power to over 3 hours.

Added to this set is our ERRIGAL aluminium goodman handle so you will have your fingers free when holding your light.

The set of the Laurentic with our cave canister takes its name form the harbour village Portsalon (Irish: Port an tSalainn) is a coastal townland in County Donegal, Ireland. It’s situated on the scenic Lough Swilly and it is known for its beach, which was deemed to be the second most beautiful beach in the world by The Observer newspaper.

Portsalon is one of the departure points for diving the Laurentic.

  • The LAURENTIC is a dive light for diving in both clear water during the day and at night.
  • The quality of our reflector design maximises the light output.
  • The light comes with a combination of strobe and SOS modes which is a safety feature.
  • The rechargeable batteries in the Eske canister are sourced direct from Panasonic or Sanyo.
  • The ESKE canister is factory sealed and will need to be returned to us for battery replacement.
  • It takes approximately 11 hours to charge the battery pack from empty.
  • The expected burn time at 100% output is 3 hours.
  • Three output intensity levels of 100%, 50% and 25% enables very long durations over multiple dives or extended durations when battery is low.

  • Led battery indicator:
    • Blue – over 60% available
    • Green – 30-60% available
    • Red – 10-30% available
    • Flashing Red – less than 10%.
  • When the battery level gets very low the torch shuts down saving the battery memory. This battery protection makes sure that you can have many more dives without needing to replace the battery.
  • The light has an overheat protection. It turns off automatically should the light head get too hot. This saves burning out the LED and electronics.
  • Double and Triple O-Ring design in the lighthead as well as in the canister ensures water tightness even at extreme depths.
  • The aviation grade anodized aluminium gives strength and longevity.
  • The ERRIGAL goodman handle is made from molded aluminium.
